Restaurant Expeditor (Expo)

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Restaurant Expeditor (Expo) to join our dynamic team. The Expo plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless flow of food orders from the kitchen to the dining and bowling areas. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong multitasking abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to our guests.

Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate food orders between the kitchen and servers to ensure timely and accurate delivery to guests.
  2. Review and organize tickets to prioritize orders based on table assignments and timing requirements.
  3. Ensure that all food items meet quality and presentation standards before they leave the kitchen.
  4. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers to clarify orders, special requests, and modifications.
  5. Monitor the status of each table’s order and provide updates to servers and management as needed.
  6. Ensure that plates are garnished appropriately and verify accuracy of each order before it is served.
  7. Manage multiple tickets and orders simultaneously while maintaining a calm and organized demeanor.
  8. Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the expo station and surrounding areas.
  9. Collaborate with kitchen and service staff to resolve any issues or discrepancies with orders promptly.
  10. Uphold food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling and storage of food items.

 

Requirements

  1. Proven experience as an expediter or similar role in a restaurant environment.
  2. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and presentation standards.
  3. Excellent communication skills and ability to remain composed under pressure.
  4. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting.
  5. Attention to detail and commitment to ensuring accuracy in order fulfillment.
  6. Team-oriented mindset with a positive and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  7. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Previous experience in a high-volume or dining restaurant.
  2. Familiarity with POS systems and restaurant management software.

 

Physical Requirements

  1. Ability to stand, walk, and lift moderately heavy objects (up to 25 pounds) for extended periods.
  2. Stamina to work long hours in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment.
